Manually test your battery status

Follow these easy methods to manually test your battery if it is not equipped with the Smart Battery technology. Measure the duration of your battery's discharge cycle

1.Connect your Universal Laptop AC Adapter and completely charge the notebook lenovo laptop battery
2.Restart the computer in Windows Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key when the lenovo logo appears. Select Safe Mode from the Startup Menu by using the arrow keys
3.When Safe Mode appears, disconnect the AC power adapter from the notebook
4.With a timer, measure the total length of time that the notebook is running until the notebook turns itself off

Is it okay to reformat a Toshiba Laptop? More info inside?

Hi, I have bought my laptop in May this year. It is Toshiba Satellite L550 model. So I am looking forward to format the laptop. Reason of it has Windows 7 Home Premium. I am considering of upgrading from Premium to Ultimate. So if i do this would this process stuff up my laptop like the applications and drivers like battery status, health status of it and other features like eco utility software as well. Please answer people thank you.

It will cause no problems as long as you use the upgrade CD's. The upgrade will add to the operating system and no reformat necessary. If doing a full install using a new boxed Windows 7 Ultimate when you start the install using the disc set it will reformat and install the new operating system writing over the old OS and every thing on the hard drive.
It will have all the same features as Premium plus the added features of Ultimate.
