Gateway Laptop Power Adaptor
Has anyone had a problem with their gateway laptop model mx6448 not powering up?
have tested the ac power adaptor on friends gateway computer operates his computer fine with ac power adaptor without battery in laptop. I have eliminated charger as problem, my battery is showing about 20% charge. When I hold down on power button with only battery power, 4 red lights flash on front of laptop, and that is it, will not power up. The laptop power cord plug seems secure. Power button does not seem loose. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I can't afford a new laptop now would like to repair if reasonable.
This happened to me on my HP 6500 notebook. 1st thing you need to do is pull your battery out, then connect the power cord to the computer and turn it on. Then when it starts, let it boot up and if it works, clean the battery off. Then replace the battery, start the system up, and plug in the cord. It should work after that.
