Gaming laptops - are they really suitable to play?

Copyright (c) 2009 Titus Hoskins

Despite the increasing demand and the popularity of portable gaming, there is still a persistent problem that just will not go away. Gaming laptops are really suitable for video games first?

Many die hard gamers still laugh at the whole concept of video games on a laptop. The two are simply not compatible, are not counted. Hold a laptop is simply too small and too compact to handle all that heat - literally, in sense figuratively and physically.

Achieving high performance in general, any computer, either desktop or laptop, they emit a large amount of heat. And placing all high-end components in such a confined space, small only adds to this problem. Many players complain that the simple production of gaming notebooks too hot and not the increasingly persistent problem of frying your rig. Given the fact that many players also have a long-term obsession Overclocking gives this weight concern further.

By monitoring the various gaming forums, you will hear constant stories of laptops the game simply can not handle all that heat. Then there is the issue of fan noise as your gaming platform tries to keep everything on the cool side. Many gaming laptops too noisy and I prefer to try their luck with a PC game instead.

And why spend all that money on a laptop game when you can get a much better game system at a much cheaper way with a desktop PC. This question of the price advantage is one of the arguments no more convincing to buy a gaming laptop.

Arguments, however legitimate, however, there are several players those die-hard battle, and also care to know and do. One has to do with the idea of upgrading in gaming laptops can not be upgraded so easily as a desktop PC. In fact, with most laptops you can upgrade the RAM easily if you have free slots available. You can also update the record hard, but depending on the notebook model, other components like graphics cards and processors can be difficult (if not impossible, or worth) to update on a laptop compared to upgrading a desktop PC.

Moreover, with a desktop PC, there is amble room for improvement that makes it a suitable candidate, and game systems must be constantly updated, if you want the best gaming performance possible, that after all is the unwritten creed of most of the real players. They want the best and they want it now.

However, major laptop manufacturers know a good thing (nonprofit), when they see it and are jumping all over the market for portable games. We are constantly seeing more and more powerful game systems coming to market. Recently, we have seen muscle Dell Alienware (Dell, you own) with the launch of new all-powerful Alienware m17x through of its marketing channels and through Alienware.

It's powerful and mobile gaming systems that gradually m17x defeat this argument laptops that are not good for games. The m17x delivers high end performance with an Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad and Dual Nvidia GeForce overclockable 1 gigabyte GTX 280 graphics card (SLI enabled 1024 MB) and shared with up to 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz dual. Specifications impressive than many would blush with envy desktop.

Moreover, there is the whole question of style over performance. Many players just want and want all flash and style computers fresh high portable final game. They can only be the coolest looking devices on the planet. They are also easier to lug around a desktop PC, no matter which way to turn it.

Laptops for gaming, despite the obvious objections Die hard gamers with the update, overheating, fan noise and high prices are probably here to stay and is slowly eating into the desktop market games. Whether you can fully capture the hearts of real players is a different matter altogether, which will not be answered in the short term.

Why not a $ 1299 Alienware Aurora?

Almost all the sites and forums I visit to research Alienware computers say they are trash and a waste of money. They never give the reasons and say to build their own place. I priced the Alienware Aurora (no ALX) components in newegg.com and you can save about $ 50-100 building itself. I'm beginning to think that there is a lot of people just hit the mark, giving no real reason, apart from 'suck'. I want a team of pre-compiled game with plenty of room for future upgrades, warranty, support, and Alienware Aurora seems to fit very well. Any ideas would be appreciated, except 'suck. Sorry, I posted this first in the laptop / notebook section for the accident.

Well Alienware are not garbage, are just not good value for money, you can get a more powerful than Alienware for the same price as long as you're not getting ripped off. And I personally do not like prebuilt computers, as they tend to come with a lot of crap on the hard drive = /
