HP Pavilion DV6000 Notebook Comments (photos, specs)

The article is shopbatteries.ca

I purchased an HP Pavilion dv6000 to replace my dying Toshiba Satellite P35 notebook. The dv6000 seemed be a good candidate because it came with an ATI Mobility Radeon X600 graphics card and other options that provided for a large notebook desktop replacement style.

HP Pavilion DV6000 New Notebook Specifications:

Design:

The dv6000 has a slightly modified its previous generation model. Most notable is the cooling system. It is completely redesigned. Is it better now? Unfortunately that's a negative. There is an extra fan now, probably to ensure that the machine can remain calm with the new ATI Mobility X600 graphics card. The entire back of the laptop is dedicated to having vents for cooling, thereby sacrificing the parallel port of the generation prev. Even with a series of vents, the computer still gets very hot and the fans spin all the time and they are strong.

The area keyboard and wrist rest below the keyboard still gets very hot to the touch, but not as bad as the dv2000 I was master of himself. The touchpad area is thankfully better and more useful now than before. I wish she had focused more on improving the cooling and reducing heat buildup for the keyboard instead to improve the touchpad though. The heat around the keyboard can make it uncomfortable to type after 10 minutes to write on this laptop. The cooling system its just needs a lot more reworking, my use of the Toshiba Satellite P35 shown that a large desktop replacement notebook with a Pentium 4 does not necessarily to be a giant heat sync. Toshiba managed to get rid of heat P35 system and typing was comfortable.

I've heard talk about many other problems he had with the older design, and I also had problems with loose connections adapter on my old HP dv2000. The new connector on the HP dv6000 seeks to resolve this problem, however, this means that you will not be able to use power adapters 3rd party more.

Size and weight:

This laptop is one of the biggest around. With a strong peso 9.5 pounds, is likely in the top 5% of the weight bracket for laptop computers. The dimensions measure 16.5 "L x 11.5" W x 1.57/1.85 "H. The adapter CA adds another pounds 3 ounces total weight. That means you will be carrying more than 10 kilos of IT hardware, so this is not for the giant faint-hearted!

Display:

The screen is superb. It is wonderfully bright and clear, and provides a respectable 1280 × 800 on a widescreen format. Yes, certainly there are laptops with higher resolution. Actually, it boils down to preference. While other units can give high resolution, some may find difficult to read on small screens. For me, I thought 1280 × 800 is a good resolution to use for a 15.4? screen. My only complaint is that the display light is very bad when trying to use the outdoor unit. Gets so bad that it is more like looking into a mirror that a computer screen. Inside, however, the screen is beautiful.

Speakers:

The speakers are Harman / Kardon and brand in relation to the size of the laptop are small. The speakers on this laptop face outward, which is nice if you like something to play with the lid closed. The speaker performance is not as good though. You start to hear sound distortion at about 80% of maximum volume. Bass is virtually nonexistent with this set of speakers. For the games of the speakers seemed to perform decently, but they lack the virtual spatialization is on the speakers Toshiba P35.

Admission:

The keyboard is a very standard keyboard design numerically integrated in what is undoubtedly an addition of Nice. If anything will bring them to this laptop, the keypad is. It is not terribly hot and sunk This helps to alleviate the problem of accidentally tripped when typing. However, due to its large size, yet not completely avoid this problem, even with small hands.

Pros

  • Beautiful screen
  • NumPad included in the keyboard
  • 5 USB ports
  • 2 PCMCIA slots
  • Good graphics card and gaming performance

Cons

  • Loud Fans
  • Area laptop keyboard gets very hot
  • Horrible battery life
  • No serial or parallel
  • Owner AC plug
  • Only 100 MB Fast Ethernet

The HP Pavilion DV6000 is a nice, solid laptop and really can not go wrong with this unit. The price makes it affordable. The Sports Unit a nice sleek design and good all-around performance. It also offers a strong balance of the features that really makes this portable entertainment usable as a desktop replacement. In fact, I enjoy it much, I find myself spending more time working in the DV6000 now I do my main desktop.

Sony Vaio Notebook MacBook front?

I'm trying to decide between Sony VAIO laptop (VGN-FW240J / H) and MacBook (MB403LL / A). The new computer portable replace my desktop. The Vaio is bigger, but I'm not sure using MS Vista as my operating system. The Mac seems to be the most creative, but the Sony has more features. Any help or information on equipment is appreciated. Thank you.

The new MacBooks are more energy efficient notebooks on the market. The backlit keyboard is amazing. The fan is used to move air through the keyboard, so less dust is capable of achieving in the cooling fins of your CPU. In addition, the air is much cooler on the keyboard than it is beneath the computer. I have a Vaio and a MacBook. My Mac is a replacement for my son Vaio age of 2. The complaints I have on my Sony Vaio is that customer service is the most horrible thing I've tried. If you happen to need the drivers after the sale, you have to buy the discs, as Vaio does not come with recovery discs. They are also not available for download, unless you sort through Sony Spain and find a model that seems similar to yours and download that driver. I've gone through 2 chargers, simply stop working. I like the easy way to connect an external monitor or TV is for my Vaio. It has a 3.5mm jack that can be used to connect to anything with inputs of A / V I had no hardware problems with my Vaio than the shipper. For my Mac, it's very difficult to connect to anything other than an expose AppleCinema. Even if you buy the MiniDisplay port to DVI and then a HDMI to DVI and connect it to anything, yet do not receive any sound. Leopard I love how easy it is to use, and how little it takes to run. I hated Vista when I upgraded, and have since downgraded back to XP. Did you know that a computer with XP starts, open a Word document, save the document, and then goes faster than the same computer running Vista and do the same job? This is what we call improvement? Now, the Vaio has the characteristics of connection, which I feel is insufficient MacBook. But not really care about SD card readers and everything. I just connect the camera to read this. Im talking about Firewire, 1394, things like that. It's all a matter of choice. Both are great machines and Windows is the industry standard at this time. Im glad there is competition out there though, and I love my new Mac, I do not even consider anything else now, but thats a personal choice.
