How can I record something on a disk in my laptop that has a built in microphone?

As I said, my laptop has a microphone built and I would be able to record myself playing a musical instrument for an audition. However, I am unable to find the place where the computer that could be able to do this. I understand if you wont be able to assist my team without front of you, but any advice would be appreciated.

You can record directly to disc. You can record your voice, then save as a file and then burn it to disc.
